College of Physiotherapists of Ontario

The College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (the College) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to regulating the practice of physiotherapist in the public interest. As the largest physiotherapy regulatory body in Canada, the College (previously the Board of Directors of Physiotherapy) has been helping to ensure that patients receive safe, effective physiotherapy care since 1955.

Physiotherapists take a comprehensive approach to providing health care - the College takes a similar approach to protecting the public. By ensuring that physiotherapists are well-trained, competent and sensitive to the needs of their clients, the College sets the standard for the delivery of safe, effective and ethical physiotherapy services. The College is a partner of the CIHR Team in Community Care and Health Human Resources.
