Neighbourhood Link/Senior Link is an innovative community-based agency that actively promotes people's independence and dignity. With a 25 year history of cutting edge advocacy work that has strong roots in its community. Senior Link serves individuals in need.

Neighbourhood Link/Senior Link has an extensive history of pioneering innovative and responsive services. For example, when developing Case Management services, Neighbourhood Link/Senior Link staff began researching models of care that would successfully respond to the needs of extremely vulnerable frail, elderly clients and allow them to remain living within their own homes. The agency began exchanging ideas and experiences with PSSRU researchers at the University of Kent, Canterbury, UK. After much discussion and development of ideas within the agency, with community partners, volunteers, and with academics, Neighbourhood Link/Senior Link implemented an intensive initiative, called The Akwasti Project, based on the Canterbury model, but adapted to the Canadian context. Neighbourhood Link/Senior Link continues to develop effective services that enhance quality of life through community based programmes.

Neighbourhood Link/Senior Link is a partner of the CIHR Team in Community Care and Health Human Resources.
