Rachel Devitt
Rachel completed a Bachelor of Arts (1991) in Physical and Health Education at York University and a Bachelor of Health Science (1997) in Occupational Therapy at McMaster University. Following completion of her degree, Rachel worked clinically as an occupational therapist primarily with individuals with neurological and neurodegenerative disorders. Throughout her clinical work, Rachel participated in collaborative research projects and contributed to undergraduate education in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto.
Rachel is currently in the second year of her MSc. in Rehabilitation Science at the University of Toronto and her thesis is focused on examining the impact of aging on the community integration of adults with moderate to severe traumatic brain injury. While pursuing her graduate studies Rachel continues to participate on several committees and volunteer with organizations such as the Tetra Society of North America, a non-profit organization that designs assistive technology for persons with disabilities. Rachel is also the 2002-2003 President of the Rehabilitation Science Graduate Student Union at the University of Toronto.
