Nancy Kraetschmer, PhD

Ms. Kraetschmer recieved her B.A. (Hons.) in Sociology from Queen's University (1990), a MSc in Health Administration from the University of Toronto (1994) and a MBA from the University of Western Ontario (2000). Ms. Kraetschmer has just recived her Ph.D in Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (Health Policy stream) at the University of Toronto where she examined the policy implications for scope of services and geography for telehealth. Her MSc thesis developed the Problem Solving Decision Making (PSDM) scale, still widely used in analysis of treatment choice. Indeed, one resulting article, Deber, Raisa; Kraetschmer, Nancy; Irvine, Jane (1996): What role do patients wish to play in treatment decision making? Arch. Intern. Med. 156(13, 8 Jul), 1414-1420, has been cited almost 200 times.


Ms. Kraetschmer is currently working at Canada Health Infoway as a Project Director, Benefits Evaluation. She has previously held positions in health care consulting, clinical research departments of pharmaceutical companies and in the public health care sector as a health services researcher.
