Policy Analysis

Synopsis of Project:
Project 3 will be a series of interpretive policy syntheses of the key issues raised by the SBHC research agenda. We believe this element is a crucial ‘capstone’ to the work plan, and is in accord with the CIHR’s commitment to knowledge translation. As is increasingly recognized, the methods for such syntheses “remain under-developed and under-evaluated.”2 We will accordingly follow the recommendations of Lomas, and use peer review by our Advisory Board and Team Council to ensure that there has been “adequate control of bias and trust-worthy exercise of discretion.”1 We anticipate heavily involving our partners in both determining topics requiring such policy syntheses, suggesting materials, and critiquing these reviews.
